World Arts Centre at SFU Goldcorp Centre for the Arts
This workshop invites participants to explore and apply decolonial approaches to policy development within their organizations. Utilizing insights from Indigenous-led audits, participants will learn to critically assess the colonial impacts of existing policies and identify gaps related to reconciliation, anti-racism, and cultural safety.
The workshop will guide attendees through a structured process to evaluate their organization’s accountability, understand the roles of harm and complicity, and build competence in creating policies centred on Indigenous sovereignty, ecological sustainability, and community engagement. Attendees will engage with tools to reshape governance practices, prioritize trauma-informed facilitation, and ensure meaningful, inclusive policy formation that values human relationships and ancestral connections
