13 Most Beautiful… Songs for Andy Warhol’s Screen Tests Tonight!!

January 30, 2009

Tonight’s kind of a big deal. Why, you ask?

Well, because Dean & Britta are performing at the Vogue Theatre.

THAT’s why.

They have composed music to 13 of Andy Warhol’s screentests from the 1960s, and will play with a screen behind them projecting the screentests.

If you haven’t checked out their YouTube clip for this, do so now. I am purposefully wearing waterproof mascara tonight because this performance, with the silent images being projected, will be so beautiful, so melancholy, so perfect, I will cry.

Tickets are available through Ticketmaster for $25.

Also, tomorrow Saturday, January 31st, at 4pm, Dean Wareham will be doing a free reading at Zulu Records from his recently published biography: Black Postcards- A Rock ‘n’ Roll Romance (click here to read a review by Liz Phair). He will also be performing a few acoustic numbers.

AWESOME.

Seriously, be there or be square. For real.
