PuSh Festival Fundraiser: Dinner with Vicki Gabereau
June 25, 2012
What a tremendous evening! On a grey day in early June, an intimate group of PuSh supporters, both old and new, got a healthy dose of spring when they were invited by PuSh Leaders Council member Vicki Gabereau and her husband Tom Rowe to their home.
Guests were greeted by a beautiful table set by the hostess with the mostest, and dined throughout the evening on gastronomique delights created by Kevin Mooney, one of the best cooks in town (he won’t allow you to call him a chef!)
Just before dessert, guests were treated to a unique gift as singer-songwriter and Club PuSh co-curator Veda Hille took to Vicki’s baby grand piano and serenaded the small group with PuSh tunes from past and present, along with other favourites. She finished with a beautiful singalong of “Helpless” by Neil Young, which guests were only too happy to join.
As this gathering was to benefit the PuSh Festival, Executive Director Norman Armour shared with those new to PuSh a little bit of the history of the Festival’s birth, and even gave a sneak peak into what’s on tap for 2013!
A huge thank you to Vicki and Tom for opening their home, and a particularly ENORMOUS thank you to the incredible support we received from guests that evening. We were thrilled to reach our goal of raising $5,000!
This is the kind of support that enables the kind of cutting-edge performing arts you have come to love and expect from the PuSh Festival to continue arriving on stages and street corners near you each and every January! Thank you from the bottom of our PuShy little hearts… we couldn’t do it without you!
