PuSh Announces Departure of Interim Executive Director Roxanne Duncan

December 13, 2018

Vancouver, BC — PuSh International Performing Arts Festival (PuSh) announced today the departure of Interim Executive Director Roxanne Duncan after five years with the organization. Duncan announced her intention to step down from her role following the 2019 edition of the festival, in March 2019. During her tenure as Managing Director, Duncan contributed a valuable leadership role in presenting record-breaking festivals, a steady hand in relocating PuSh’s administrative operations to the creative work space at The Post at 750, and most recently, with the departure and transition of PuSh Founder and longtime Artistic and Executive Director Norman Armour.

“The 15th anniversary PuSh Festival will be my fifth and final with the organization, and I couldn’t be more proud of the work my colleagues and I have done to create this extra-celebratory festival,” says Duncan. “When I arrived at PuSh in 2014 it was an honour to lead the organization through the transition of creating and relocating to our new, permanent home at The Post at 750. I’m similarly honoured to support the organization’s transition to a new leadership team in the new year. I have no doubt that the next chapter in PuSh’s life will be as bold, exciting, and transformative as the last 15 years have been, and I wish the company and its extended family all the very best.”

“On behalf of the Board of Directors and the PuSh administration, we extend our deepest gratitude to Roxanne Duncan for the clarity of vision and leadership she contributed during her tenure,” says Mira Oreck, Co-chair of the PuSh Board of Directors. “Roxanne has served a critical role in key operational and financial initiatives through some of the organization’s greatest milestones. We look forward to celebrating PuSh Festival’s landmark 15th anniversary with Roxanne this January — before wishing her the very best in new challenges and career pursuits.”

The 2019 PuSh International Performing Arts Festival marks its hotly anticipated 15th anniversary. Running January 17 to February 3, 2019, the festivities will bring 26 works from 24 companies from 13 countries to Vancouver to showcase visionary collaboration and innovative works representing a diverse array of theatre, dance, music, and multimedia.
