This year, The PuSh Festival’s Executive Director Norman Armour will be sharing his expertise at the CREATIVEMIX Conference.
“What is Next?:
Now that we’ve hosted a Winter Olympics and its accompanying Cultural Olympiad, what’s next? Now that the social arts sector—one of the undeniable engines of innovation, imagination, and creative thinking about ourselves and the world around us—is wrestling with unprecedented cuts to sources for public funding within our region, what’s next? Now that we are about to step onto the threshold of Vancouver’s 125th anniversary, what’s next?” Norman Armour (PuSh Festival, Executive Director)
CREATIVEMIX is an interdisciplinary event, bringing together industry-leading idea makers who share their experiences and explore a common thread of creativity and collaboration. We believe that it’s not our skill that makes us truly creative but it’s the way in which we practice and enjoy creating and sharing in community that makes us ‘creatives’. Bettering ourselves, and getting better connected with likeminded people, is what we call our creative mix and it’s invaluable to our careers, and lives.

CREATIVEMIX is for both emerging and established creative professionals, bringing them together in an atmosphere of idea making and collaboration.
CREATIVEMIX attracts people from the following industries (but not limited to): Animation & Digital Arts, Advertising & Marketing, Photography, Fine Art, Architecture & Design, Fashion, Film & TV, Theatre & Performing Arts, Music, Culinary Arts and, yes, even Business.

So often creatives gather to hone their technical craft; however, skills are simply not enough. It is one thing to plan and deliver on a great idea, but it’s the innovator who stands apart from the crowd. This conference will truly give you the best of both worlds: a jolt of creative energy and new tools to bring your ideas into reality. The program will consist of 8 speakers, from various industries, who will share how they foster and manage creativity, fan new ideas into flame, and promote the cross-pollination of creative concepts among different types of people and projects. There will also be 2 workshop sessions, a creative exhibition, and an awesome amount of socializing (which, let’s face it, that’s when it all really happens).
