* How long have you been involved with the PuSh Festival?
I began as an audience member in 2007 and saw Revisited, Rage, Skydive and BioBoxes. In 2011 I was a Casting Assistant and ASM for 100% Vancouver with Theatre Replacement. In 2012 I was the Manager of Recognition and Special Events, which means I produced the opening gala at the Waldorf Hotel and put up signs during the festival. I’m thrilled to be back this year making the Blog, Twitter, Facebook and opening gala social and special.
* What is your favourite memory of PuSh?
100% Vancouver was one of the most moving theatrical experiences I have ever had the pleasure of being a part of, while standing in the wings. Watching 100 people from all walks of life come together, share their stories, and get comfortable on stage was a beautiful thing to be a part of.
* Which PuSh shows/ experiences have stayed with you?
Last year as an audience member I was touched by: The Idiot (I saw it twice!), Taylor Mac, No. 2, and El pasado es un animal grotesco.
* What are you looking forward to at this year’s festival?
Do You See What I Mean?, Human Library, Sometimes I think I can see you, Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart (mmmm Scottish accents!) and Club PuSh.
* Outside of PuSh what do you do with your time?
I produce the comedy shows Teen Angst Night and Say Wha?! Readings of Deliciously Rotten Writing. I also run the Vancouver chapter of Dance Dance Party Party. Sometimes I act, improvise, sing karaoke, ride my bike, travel, tweet, blog, and work on my novel. More about me here.
* What does ‘crossing the line’ mean to you?
Stepping out of our comfort zone, taking a risk, and diving into the unknown.
