“Best festival to give you that Berlin feeling

PuSh International Performing Arts Festival

Hey, who has the time or the money to hang around Europe’s most exciting cities, absorbing the art-house atmosphere and taking in all the avant-garde performances? We didn’t think so. Fortunately, there’s the PuSh International Performing Arts Festival, an event that brings the cutting edge to you, lighting an insanely creative bonfire in the middle of the deep, dark winter. In words, the fest is hard to define: it’s interdisciplinary, but that doesn’t go halfway to describing it. PuSh has to be experienced. In the past, that’s meant everything from a Welsh lass reenacting scenes from Scarface in front of video projections of her parents’ chintz-bedecked home in Wales to a Dutch company moving thousands of tiny, ghostlike puppets around a meticulously scaled-down version of Auschwitz. It’s unlike any other festival in the city, and it’s a decent reason not to escape town during the drizzliest month. (The next one happens January 18 to February 6, 2011.)”

We would also like to congratulate our distribution sponsor JJ Bean Coffee Roasters for winning first place as the Best Fair-Trade Coffee Shop, the Best Coffee Shop (independent) and the Best Coffee Shop (local chain).
