Donors step forward in style at Fluevog Patrons Circle event
January 28, 2014
PuSh was thrilled to be hosted and feted by the wonderful folks at John Fluevog Shoes in Gastown last weekend. After attending Festival performances, audience members, artists and Festival staff and contractors celebrated the end of the first week with gorgeous nibbles from Festival Catering Partner Emelle’s and fine refreshments from Beer Partner Kronenbourg 1664 and Wine Partner Summerhill Pyramid Winery.
All this revelry led to a fervent desire for shoes, which worked to PuSh’s advantage as 50% of all sales from the event would be donated by Fluevog to the PuSh Festival. So when all was said and done, all the wine drunk, and all the shoes bought, PuShers went home with over $9,000 in beautiful footwear, leading to a generous contribution of $4,500 to the PuSh Festival!
In the words of PuSh Artistic & Executive Director Norman Armour, “Fluevog is like the ‘grand daddy’ of creative entrepreneurs in this city. They are an iconic local brand, synonymous with Vancouver, it’s sense of fashion, style, and innovation. Like the other local brands we’re proud to work with (Vancity, Modo The Car Co-op, JJ Bean, me&lewis ideas inc.), Fluevog knows the value of the arts and their importance to a healthy civic culture and economy.”
Thank you so much to all our supporters, and most of all to John Fluevog Shoes. Your leadership as a homegrown Vancouver business investing in your city’s arts scene is an inspiration!
