Jason Dubois Appointed Managing Director of PuSh International Performing Arts Festival

Vancouver, BC — Franco Boni, Artistic and Executive Director of PuSh International Performing Arts Festival (PuSh), and the Board of Directors, today announced the appointment of Jason Dubois as Managing Director.

PuSh connects the international arts scene to Vancouver through meaningful, impactful conversation and performance that has put our city on the map as a beacon of cultural innovation.”

Having worked on national festivals for three years in Ottawa, Dubois is thrilled to be joining the PuSh Festival team. “PuSh is an internationally lauded festival that continues to attract arts programmers from around the globe keen to discover the new, and the next.”

Jason Dubois is an arts manager who has been working in performing arts creation, presentation, and touring for more than 20 years. He holds a Bachelor of Administration degree from the University of Regina, where he first became involved with Canadian dance at New Dance Horizons in 1996. He has created lighting designs for a number of dance companies, including Company 605, the response. (Amber Funk Barton), Martha Carter, and Aeriosa (Julia Taffe). Jason has served as Technical Director for The Dance Centre, DanceHouse, and Judith Marcuse Projects, and as Production and Tour Manager for Kidd Pivot (Crystal Pite), Wen Wei Dance, Lola Dance, The Holy Body Tattoo and others. He was the Executive Director of Dance Victoria, Producing Director for the Canada Dance Festival 2016 and 2017, and was Festival Manager for the National Arts Centre’s Canada Scene, a 39-day festival in the with more than 1000 artists in performing, visual and media arts.

Jason also works with Eponymous in Vancouver as Producer for Kidd Pivot and Company 605, as Associate Producer for Wen Wei Dance and Dancers of Damelahamid, as Production Manager for Vancouver New Music, and Director of Patron Relations for DanceHouse. He is also the Associate Producer for the Dance Centre’s Dance In Vancouver, a biennial showcase of Vancouver dance artists for Canadian and international dance presenters. Jason has volunteered on the boards of directors of The Greater Vancouver Alliance for Arts and Culture, The Professional Arts Alliance of Greater Victoria (ProArt), the Canadian Alliance of Dance Artists BC (CADA/West), and was president of the Canadian Dance Assembly’s National Council.

The 16th edition of the PuSh Festival will take place January 21–February 9, 2020. Full programming details will be announced in November 2019.
