Indigenous Performance Reaches Critical Mass
Industry Series
Indigenous performance is on the rise as witnessed by the Indigenous Body Of Work, an impressive list of over 350 works and counting. Come witness a conversation between emerging and established Indigenous performing artists as they grapple with aesthetics and ideas critical to their practice.
Inspired by The Cycle, a collaboration between the National Arts Centre English Theatre, Indigenous Performing Arts Alliance (IPAA) and Debajehmujig Storytellers, this exchange places Indigenous leaders at the centre of performance exploration.
Join PuSh as we contribute international context to a conversation exploring the Indigenous Body Of Work featuring Ilbijerri Theatre’s Artistic Director Rachael Maza (Torres Strait Islander), Full Circle First Nations Performance’s Artistic and Managing Director Margo Kane (Cree-Saulteaux) and emerging artists Deneh’Cho Thompson (Dene) and Lindsay Lachance (Anishnaabe).
This event is facilitated by Cole Alvis (Métis-Irish) the Executive Director of the Indigenous Performing Arts Alliance.
