The Show Must Go On Cast Blog: Natalie Schneck, Jan 14

by Natalie Schneck, performer in The Show Must Go On
We ran the entire show yesterday, which was really useful for getting the rhythm of the piece in our bodies. Now, it is time to work on the details and really own it. I think this piece will speak most clearly when we are so prepared and familiar with the form that we move to a level of liberation within it. I am curious about Bel’s source for this piece was it the form or the content that came first?
I have been practicing my song each day to find the delicate balance of honesty and enthusiasm, the song is for a scene titled “Chorus” and I can only imagine what it looks like on the outside.
Dina and Henrique bring a sense of humor to rehearsals and are sensitive to the interpretations of each performer, while being clear on the rules of the game that Bel has set out for us.
One of our biggest and most consistent tasks is listening. It seems quite simple, but it requires a high level of concentration and this is what we are working towards.
Off to rehearsal tonight! I love going to rehearsal.
