October 23, 2013
For immediate release: October 23, 2013
The PuSh International Performing Arts Festival will reveal its 10th Anniversary programming and events at the Festival Launch Party on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 7pm at The Imperial (319 Main Street, Vancouver).
The Launch Party will begin the celebrations leading up to the 10th edition of the Festival, which takes place January 14 to February 2, 2014. Artistic and Executive Director Norman Armour will offer a first glimpse at the performances and artists of the upcoming Festival, which hail from Canada, England, Germany, Iran, Ireland, Lebanon, Portugal, and the United States. Details of the Festival’s Gala Performance on January 14—in essence, PuSh’s public birthday party—will also be unveiled.
The Launch Party, hosted by Vancouver comedy king Charles Demers, will include rocking entertainment from some of Vancouver’s most popular musicians and indie bands: Veda Hille, Woodpigeon, Bocephus King, Wintermitts, Colin Cowan and the Elastic Stars, and Brasstronaut! In an interesting twist, they will cover songs by their favourite local musicians.
The evening is a fundraising event directly benefiting the 10th Anniversary Festival. Tickets are $45, available at pushfestival.ca, 604.605.8285 ext 206. Tickets to an exclusive pre-reception at 6pm are $100 (includes light refreshments, drinks, $50 tax receipt and entry to the Launch Party).
